Dear Governor
Blagojevich:
Illinois cannot afford to shut its doors to business growth and
job expansion. I believe your gross receipts tax on business
will put Illinois business at a huge disadvantage and lead to
higher prices for everything we buy.
It will take $7.6 billion a year out of the state’s economy, tax
Illinois families out of jobs and tax Illinois companies out of
business. It’s a bad, bad idea for Illinois.
We need fiscal restraint and responsibility to move Illinois
forward, not higher taxes.
